Georgetown: A 12-member jury returned a verdict of not guilty Thursday for Shawn ‘Bolo’ Smith who walked out of the High Court a free man
He was accused of killing pensioner Hector Fitzroy Marshall, in 2009 of South Ruimveldt. The matter was heard before Justice James Bovell-Drakes.
The case was prosecuted before State Prosecutor Natasha Backer and Dhanika Singh. Smith was represented by attorney at law Peter Hugh.
Smith was indicted for the murder of 64-year-old Marshall, which occurred between January 18 and 19, 2009, at South Ruimveldt.
The prosecution closed its case after presenting several witnesses, including the son of the deceased, Julian Cort Edmonds. The trial began a little over a week ago.
