Georgetown: Koabe Grant, 23, a carpenter of Sophia on Wednesday admitted to killing Guyana Defence Force Corporal, Daniel Fraser, 26, and his girlfriend Shanicka Forde, 23, in Sophia on September 1, 2021 after Fraser allegedly raped a closed relative of his and was in the habit of disrespecting hicm about it, police confirmed.

Fraser, a Lance Corporal and his 23-year-old girlfriend, Shanicka Forde, were gunned down while on their way to his Lot 598 ‘A’ Field, Sophia home.
Grant was arrested and take to CID, Brickdam Police Station where under questioning he related that in November 2020, Fraser and two others raped a closed relative and Fraser was in the habit of disrespecting and threatening him about it.
After feeling frustrated over the entire ordeal, Grant on September 1st, about 20:30 hrs left his mother’s home at Meadow Brook and visited the said relative home.
Further, about after 23:00 hrs he left his relative home with his black BMX bicycle to visit a friend and on his way he saw Fraser in C Field Sophia have a few drinks.
Upon seeing him, Fraser allegedly made insulting remarks towards Grant and reminded him about his close relative who was raped.
An annoyed and angry Grant then returned to his mother’s home where he retrieved a hangun he claim to have found some time ago. He later confronted Fraser in B Field Sophia
Shortly after, he Fraser and his girlfriend on a motor cycle and gunned them down. He then dropped the gun and ran away returning to his mother’s home.
Reports indicate that Grants relative did make a report about being raped by Fraser and another member of the GDF which occurred in February 2021, but she had refused to seek medical attention and pursue the case.
Reports are that Forde, who resides in Barbados, was staying at her friend Tashanna George’s South Sophia, East Coast Demerara home while she was on vacation here in Guyana for the past three months.
The young couple had been reportedly dating for just over a year when the incident occurred.
According to the police, Fraser, who was hit just once, took that bullet in the chest. Forde, on the other hand, was shot thrice; once in the chest, and in the right knee. The third bullet entered her abdomen from the right and exited on the left.
