Georgetown: A butcher shop employee killed his reputed wife and attempted suicide in the wee hours of Wednesday morning at their Murphy Street Wales, West Bank Demerara residence.
Dead is 42-year-old Diane Hernandez. She was found hanging next to a bedroom wall and her 40-year-old husband Nigel Glasglow was found with a cut to the throat and was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he underwent surgery.
The man also killed the couple’s dogs in the yard. Residents in the area expressed shock as they said that the man was known as a quiet person.
Relative noted that the man had told his reputed wife to leave on many occasions and he wanted nothing to do with her but she still returned. Before the killings, the man called his children and other relatives and began behaving abusive.
When relative rushed to the house to calm him down the man had already committed the gruesome acts along with self-inflicting wounds, it is also suspected that he drank poison. The couple had been together for four years now as police investigations continue.
