Georgetown: Kwesi Fernandes, 31 years old, was shot and injured by a licensed firearm holder at Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara, at about 00:10h today, Sunday, December 4, 2011.
The licensed firearm holder Eon Evans, 38 years old of Victoria, East Coast Demerara, and his brother were imbibing at the Market Square and became involved in an argument with a female during which Kwesi Fernandes and a group of men attacked them.
It is alleged that Fernandes, of Two Friends Village, East Coast Demerara, was armed with an ice pick and Eon Evans was wounded to his right shoulder during which he discharged his firearm hitting Fernandes to his right forearm.
Both men were taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where they were treated and sent away and are now in police custody assisting with investigations.
