Georgetown : Sewdat Ramlall, 48 years, of Kersaint Park, LBI, East Coast Demerara (ECD), appeared before Magistrate Chandra Sohan at the Georgetown Magistrate Court today on charges of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to render assistance to an injured person, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident and uncertified motor vehicle.
Sewdat Ramlall was arrested yesterday following investigations into a hit and run fatal accident that occurred on December 20, 2012, at Lamaha and Carmichael Streets, Georgetown, which resulted in the death of Rodwell Brumell of Beterverwagting, ECD.
Sewdat Ramlall has been remanded to prison until January 07, 2013.
