West Bank Demerara : At about 2:30pm yesterday, miner Clint Gunput, 25 years, of Samaroo Dam, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara was attacked by two men armed with knives as he exited a mini-bus on the Pouderoyen Public Road in an apparent attempt to rob him. The men had travelled in the same vehicle with him from Georgetown.
Public spirited citizens who were in the vicinity responded and went to the assistance of the victim and arrested the perpetrators after a short chase. They were both handed over to the police and are in custody.
Clint Gunput however, sustained stab wounds to his body during the attack and has been admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital for medical treatment.
