East Coast Demerara : A police rank was walking along Canterbury Walk, Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara last night, when he was attacked by a man who is alleged to be mentally unstable and who was armed with a cutlass and a knife.
Residents responded and went to the assistance of the policeman during which the man received injuries. He was taken to the Hospital in Georgetown where he was pronounced dead.
He has been identified as 37 year old Jermaine Hamilton.
