Georgetown: A manager who supervises an electronic store had a moment of weakness and stole an “Iphone” from Electronic City on Sheriff Street, and was placed on $100,000 bail after appearing before Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ court today.
Melissa Hamilton, of 72 Railway, Embankment Kitty pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that within the period of May 23 to 30, at Electronic City on Sherriff Street, she stole one apple I-phone valued at $81,000.
The matter was subsequently transferred to another court for June 4. Attorney at law, James Bond who appeared for the defendant noted that his client had an unblemished record before and has never had any brushes with the law.
Court documents revealed that the defendant who is a manager at Electronic City removed the “Iphone” from its show case. Surveillance cameras showed that Hamilton removing the phone from the casing. Police were called in and after searching her home the phone was recovered and lodged at the station.
