Mechanic killed in home invasion

Georgetown: Forty-four-year-old Mechanic Reginald Atherley called Reggie or Diesel Boss of lot G 26 Guyhoc Park was shot twice with a .32 revolver and died in his home Saturday morning.

The father of five children lived with his new wife and 9-year-old daughter at the same address.

The man’s wife, said she heard voices and awoke to masked men standing over her with guns.

One relative said that they were asleep in the front house and was awakened by sound of gunshots.

“Is over a dozen shots, I thought it was a neigbour being robbed but then I hear was my daughter- in-law screaming that my son get shoot, by the time I reach, he was already dead,” she said.

Residents said that the mechanic was operating his shop for the past three years.

The man’s wife said that the two gunmen, who were masked, gained entry to the house by removing the louvred windows before searching for the keys to unlock the door.

The mechanic then confronted the gunmen in the house when he was shot at a close range several times.

“This doesn’t look like a robbery, they didn’t even ask for anything, they just killed him,” she said.

Relative said they were unaware if the mechanic had any issue with anyone that would result in Murder.
