Minister apologises for more delays in Scarborough Hospital

Scarborough: Health Minister Dr Fuad Khan has apologised for the delay in the construction of the Scarborough Hospital.

The minister says the hospital will not be ready by the end of the year as promised.

In a full page newspaper advertisement, Minister Khan says despite valiant attempts by all the teams involved, the hospital will not be delivered on time.

He says government wants to deliver a first class hospital that will provide the best health care for patients.

The minister is expressing confidence that when the Scarborough Hospital is commissioned, patients and citizens alike will bve very proud of the state of the art one hundred bed facility, which includes an extensive range of clinical and support services.

Cabinet is expected to visit the long overdue hospital while in Tobago over the next few days.
