Minister of Education going after secondary school truants

Bridgetown.

Minister of Education, Ronald Jones, is waging a war against truancy in secondary schools.Jones told  Trakker News, that he would be going to spots where children congregate.

"I promise to, on mornings where I can take a look in the bus stands to see how our students are being moved, to see if they are in fact sitting down. I will be somewhat incognito where I can be," Jones said.

He added that there have been reports of students deliberately missing scheduled buses.

"There have been students from a few schools, who have been identified as almost in the vanguard of waiting and delaying to take a particular bus, we are seeking to eliminate that", Jones said.
