Minister Rohee disappointed with attitude of police in dealing with Buxton residents complaints.

East Coast Demerara : Minister of Home Affairs Clement Rohee has expressed disappointment with the manner in which members of the Police Force attached to the Vigilance Police Station deal with reports from citizens at Buxton.

The Minister was at the time meeting with the community policing group at Buxton, East Coast Demerara.

The issues raised by residents were, non-cooperation from members of the Police Force, specifically those attached to the Vigilance Police Station, the need for more patrols in the area.

Minister Rohee pointed out that under the training component of the Citizen Security Programme, which sees youths that had dropped out of school, being trained in life skills, Buxton has fulfilled its quota for training individuals however, there is a high demand for the training to continue, which is evidence that individuals are taking advantage of the opportunity to develop themselves.
