Miss St. Cuthbert’s 2013

Queen with PYO repsGeorgetown: Beauty, Intelligence and Talents, those are just a few words to describe the eight delegates that vied for the spot of “Miss St. Cuthbert Mission 2013”.

With much anticipation, preparation, determination and pump and roar from the packed crowd, the contestants took part in the pageant on Friday, February 22, 2013.

Among the segments showcased were Talent, Intelligence and the much anticipated evening wear. The young ladies who were all decked out in beautiful evening dresses with matching accessories, wowed the judges in the intelligence segment which was based on social issues within the school system. The talent segment saw the contestants showcasing their aspirations for the future.

Of the eight delegates, four were selected by the judges that comprises of members within the St. Cuthbert Mission area. Of the finalist, Kimberly Farrier was able wow the Judges enough to walk-away with the winning prize and a year reign of being Miss St. Cuthbert’s 2013.

Ferrier who was decked out in a beautiful  black evening dress with silver sequences and matching shoes accessories to complement her look, took away the first prize of $20,000 and a trophy complements of the Progressive Youth Organization (PYO), a Bouquet and a Hamper complements of the Guyana Sand Port.

The Guyana sand Port also donated $10,000 to the 1st runner up. When ask about her feelings of winning the prestigious title, the reigning Queen stated “I am very happy to be chosen as Ms. Cuthbert Mission 2013 and I will do my best to promote all aspects of my community and our development in the year ahead.”

Representatives from the Progressive Youth Organization (PYO) were acknowledged by the members of the community for the continuous support and dedication towards making St. Cuthbert Mission a better community and encouraging youths to engage in more meaningful activities.
