Georgetown: The 2014 Miss World-Guyana, Rafieya Husain is expected in Guyana next week to crown the new Queen at the Miss World-Guyana Annual Coronation Ceremony.
Rafieya’s platform as the 2014 Miss World-Guyana Queen has made an indelible mark on the lives of victims of dom
estic violence particularly teenagers. She has used her Beauty With a Purpose platform to engage thousands of young people in Guyana, the Caribbean and further afield with messages of hope, love, and respect. Having had one year to campaign for young people in violent relationships Rafieya has to pass the baton to the new Miss World-Guyana Queen, who was selected by the Directors of the Miss World-Guyana Franchise to represent Guyana at the next Miss World Pageant.
The new Miss World-Guyana Queen will be unveiled and crowned at the 
upcoming Coronation Ceremony on June 26, 2015 at the Marriott Hotel. The well anticipated event will see performances by popular radio talk show host, Ms. Nuriyyih Gerrard and talented poet, Mr. Randolph Critchlow. The Coronation Ceremony will be hosted by Ms. Ruqayyah Boyer, Miss World-Guyana 2013 and Ms. Rafieya Husain, Miss World-Guyana 2014.
The 2015 Queen will represent Guyana in Sanjay, China in December. All donations received will go towards the Miss World-Guyana Beauty With a Purpose/humanitarian fund.
