The recently ended winter tourism season returned mixed levels of revenue and profit for members of the Barbados Hotel & Tourism Association. (BHTA)
President of the BHTA Colin Jordan, told Trakker News that compared to last year, a few hotels have performed better while many are flat and some have performed worse.
"My discussions with the banking community are revealing a similar sentiment", says Jordan.
He stated that this was a concern especially in light of increased visitor arrivals from two key markets, the United States and Britain.
Jordan added that most hotels have not increase rates over the past three years.
"In fact many hotels have had to give value added, providing guests with additional goods and services, without receiving revenue", Jordan said.
