Georgetown : As the Guyana Fire Service is combing through the debris at the corner of Regent and Wellington streets for clues of the origin of a fire that destroyed a building that housed four businesses, more than 20 workers are out of a job. This morning the workers of Dalip Genera Store, Akash store, Prakash People’s Variety Store and Munti Variety Store, were seen at the scene in tears.
One woman said it will be hard on her now out of a job since she is a single parent and her eldest son will be sitting the National Grade Six Examination on Wednesday.
Three of the four stores that destroyed in the fire were owned by Indian Nationals that came to invest in Guyana.
