Port of Spain: The Medical Professional Association of Trinidad and Tobago is warning that legal action could follow if it does not receive a copy of the report of the death of C-section patient Crystal Boodoo-Ramsoomair. Acting president of MPATT Dr Shahnaz Mohammed says yet again Health Minister Therese Baptiste-Cornelis is showing that she does not understand due process. Dr Mohammed says the enquiry in Mrs Boodoo-Ramsoomair’s death was attended by doctors who are represented by MPATT. However, she says that MPATT is yet to receive a copy of the report. “We have also written to the Minister of Health, explaining to her that MPATT is a bonafide registered trade union. We explained our legal responsibilities towards these doctors and we told her that we were very disappointed to learn that the report was published in the Guardian before a copy was received by this office, which we consider to be a violation of due process and an embarrassment to those who participated in the leaking of the report.
