Diamond Vale: A Diamond Vale man is the country's 250th murder victim. Dead is Mandella Lewis of Jean Avenue, Diego Martin.
Reports are shortly after midday, 26 year-old Lewis had just dropped of his one year old daughter at the home of a relative at Carnelian Gardens Boulevard, Diamond Vale and was about to enter his car when a lone gunman sitting in a white vehicle opposite the house, exited the vehicle and opened fire killing lewis on the spot.
Police believe the killing could be related to gang violence in the area.
Police also believe the killing of Jason Joseph of Green Acres on Thursday evening is a reprissal for the murder of Kailan Lewis, a week ago in the same area.
Reports are that shorly after seven on Thursday night police responded to reports of shooting at green acres in Trou Macaque, Laventille.
On arrival they found the body of Joseph with several bullet wounds. Three hundred and nine murders have been recorded for the same period last year.
