Georgetown: Police are currently on the hunt for 21-year-old Orlando Orin Ormando Richards, who is wanted in relation to the brutal murder committed on retired priest, George Chuck-A-Sang December last.
The police, on Thursday, issued a wanted bulletin for Richards, whose last address is Gibraltar Road, Corentyne, Berbice.
Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Richards, is asked to contact the police on telephone numbers: 226-6978, 225-8196, 226-2870, 226-7065, 227-1149, 226-7065, 225-6940, 911 or the nearest police station.
All information will be treated with the strictest confidence.
On Wednesday, Mohanie Mohabir and Rawle McPherson were arraigned before the Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court for the murder of Chuck-A-Sang.
The man and woman were not required to plead to the charge which alleged that, between December 16 and 21, 2020, at St. Sidwell’s Anglican Church, Hadfield & Vlissengen Road, they murdered Chuck-A-Sang. They were remanded to prison until February 25.
According to the prosecution, both Mohabir and McPherson are known to Chuck-A-Sang as they regularly visited his home. On December 21, 2020, about 16:00hrs, Chuck – A – Sang was found in his home with several wounds. An investigation was launched and resulted in the arrest of the two accused.
The accused were interviewed, during which they reportedly confessed to the crime. As such, the charge was laid against them.
