Laventille: A Laventille man who police say is well known to them is the country's latest murder victim.
Dead is David Pickles Thomas.
Reports are that shortly after 9am Thomas was speaking with friends on Wharton Street, Laventille when a lone gunman walked up and opened fire.
Thomas died on the spot. Police believe the killing was gang-related.
Meanwhile police are searching for two men to assist then in inquiries into the brutal beating of a 10-year-old boy, the sexual assault of a female and the robbery and kidnapping of a supervisor in Lopinot Road, Arouca on Monday night.
Reports are that on Monday night the Tunapuna supervisor was at his girlfreind's Lopinot Road home when two armed men entered, announced a hold up and proceeded to beat the supervisor and the boy in the house and relieve them of over $3000 in cash and valuables.
As the men were leaving, the 21-year-old girlfriend arrived. As she entered the door she was ambushed and stripped of her clothes.
She was then taken to another room where she was sexually assaulted. She and the other members were tied up, except fopr the supervisor who was taken to an ATM machine in Arouca to withdraw his money.
Instead he switched off the ignition, grabbed the car keys and ran to the Arouca Police Station where he made a report.
