Myrie granted leave to file case against Barbados by CCJ

Bridgetown.

Shanique Myrie has been granted leave by the Caribbean Court of Justice to file a case against the Government of Barbados. The ruling was made before  packed courthouse this afternoon.

Her lawyers have 14 days to file, the hearing is expected to be held in July. The  24 year old Jamaican woman  has alleged she was finger raped by a female immigration officer insulted and then denied entry to Barbados on march 14 last year.

Myrie's lawyers led by Michelle Brown argued that her rights were not only infringed but she was also discriminated against.
