A National Climate Change Policy for Barbados is waiting for approval of the Cabinet and the findings of the Green Economy Scoping Study will soon be in the hands of Government officials.
This comment was by Minister of the Environment and Drainage Dr Denis Lowe this morning in a address to stakeholders at the launch of the Partnership for Resilience, Climate Change Series at the Hilton Hotel.
Lowe the audience there could be not food, water, energy or any form of national security without climate security.
According to Lowe, the Government plans to reduce the island's dependency on fossil fuel between 2015 and 2020, which includes a proposal to invest $37 million in a green energy complex.
