Barbados and Trinidad will soon begin negotiations on a long proposed undersea natural gas pipeline.Minister in the Prime Minister Office with responsibility for Energy. Senator Darcy Boyce told a press briefing at Government Headquarters that negotiations were expected to start at the end of the month.
The discussions will take place in an inter-governmental agreement on the import/export of Trinidad's gas Boyce indicated.
A broad based committe with representatives from the Government's Division of Energy, the Ministry of Finance,the Barbados National Oil Company Limited and other agencies had been involved in the preparations for the negotiations.
Initial reports on the project said it would deliver around 25 million cubic feet of gas to Barbados daily by 2014.
