Georgetown: Detectives were led to a trench a corner away from where the Doctor's wife was killed, where they recovered, a hammer, the murder weapon, concealed in a plastic bag. The nephew which police had in custody for days now finally cracked and confessed that he and his taxi driver friend beat Mrs. Doobay repeatedly in the head until she succumbed. The men then reportedly drove off disposing of the murder weapon in the trench. According to detectives, this confession provides a clear cut case and that there can be no doubts since the men described clearly what occured and led them to the murder weapon. The motive reportedly stemmed from a dispute over a property owned by the victim. The body of 58-year-old Sharanie Doobay was found in a pool of blood near the kitchen of the Doobays’ two-storey Echilibar Villas, Campbellville residence last week Tuesday. The Police have been commended for their diligent work in cracking the case
