The Medical Intensive Care Unit of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital(QEH) is now in a better position to make rapid diagnoses for emergency patients.
The 12 bed facility was recently provided with an ultrasound diagnostic system which was donated by the managing director of Eldorado Group of companies, Robert Bourque on behalf of the organizers of the recently held return of Broadway to Barbados.
The show was held at Holder's House, patrons were treated to performances from a cast of New York Broadway leading stars among them were Lawrence Clayton, Carole Demas, Dustin Brayley and Daniel Walker.
Head of the Department of Medicine at the QEH Dr Anne Marie Hassel who accepted the equipment said the new machine will allow those on the front line to do quick studies on the heart without having to wait on a cardiologist or radiologist.
