Georgetown- Following his second incarceration in less than 3 months, Nigerian national Sulaiman Adeboye is expected to spend a long time behind bars this time and possibly deported to his country. He was put on $750,000 bail after pleading guilty to trafficking in narcotics on April 2. Canu officers swooped down on the man at the back track route where he was intercepted trying to smuggle the 21.8 kilo of cocaine to suriname. However investigators are trying to find more answers about his suppliers and possible associates here in Guyana. According to a source at CANU the Nigerian is believed to be part of a ring that has been under surveilance for some time. They are hoping to get some of the bigger players both here and in Suriname. Guyana and Suriname share a most dangerous link with drug trafiickers using the back track route to operate. Over the years the authorities have intercepted and made many arrests but without adequate border security and coast guard vessels the situation is overwhelming.
