Piarco: Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan has arrived in this country as the chief guest of this year's Emancipation celebrations.
The president touched down at the Piarco International Airport in his official aircraft around 5.30 this afternoon, accompanied by his wife Dr Patience Jonathan.
He was welcomed at the airport's southern terminal by Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar and President George Maxwell Richards.
A cultural show was held to welcome the president to these shores.
Tomorrow President Jonathan and his wife will review the Kambule Street Procession with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
He will present a Goodwill Message to the Procession, pay a courtesy call on president George Maxwell Richards and his wife, Dr. Jean Ramjohn Richards, and meet with members of the Nigerian community.
