No agreement between LIME and BWU

Bridgetown.

After four hours of intense negotiations under the chairmanship of Minister of Labour Dr Esther Byer Suckoo at the Warren Government office last night, the Barbados Workers Union and LIME failed to reach an agreement in their wages dispute.

"Both sides have a lot vested in this and I am disppointed that we have not reach an agreement , I am still hopeful we will get there", Byer- Suckoo told the press.

General Secreetary of the Barbados WorkersUnion, Sir Roy Trotman expressed his frustration.

"It has been very disappointing in every respect and a challenge to our patience. It was clear to everyone that LIME had  to move and was prepared to move from the proposal it had on the table, they came back last night and refused to make any adjustment to its proposal",Sir Roy said.

He stated that LIME position was reprehensible because the company had agreed to a 19 percent increase in  Jamaica and a 13 percent increase over the same period in St Vincent.
