Bridgetown.

A proposed plan by the Ministry of Transport and Works to inspect public service and commerical vehicles bi- annually is not intended to discriminate against them.

The details for the plan was announced in 2006, ast part of the Road Traffic Amendment Act but were only only adevertised via the media in the past weeks.

Minister of Transport and Works John Boyce, told Trakker News the plan could also be seen as a deterrent to persons  who failed to keep their public service vehicles in oder, bringly them up to scratch  only when it is time fr their yearly inspection.

"We cannot have it both ways, we need to understand that safety is a priority and we need to make sure that the relevant measures are in place to ensure our roads are safe", Says Boyce.
