There will be no increase in the cost of landline telephones for Barbadians , the Fair Trading Commission (FCC) has placed a one year moratorium on the rate Cable & Wireless trading as LIME can charge customers under a revised Price Cap formula.
"There will be a freeze on increases in the prices of all regulated services in the first year, Arpil 1, 2010 to March 31, 2013. In the subsequent two years, increases in the price of residential landline services will be capped at a maximum of five percent, or at the level of inflation whichever is lower", says Peggy Griffith, chief executive of the FCC.
