Non-national found dead in rural field

St. Kitts-Nevis: The St. Kitts Nevis Observer reported that a 60-year-old man, a non-national, who had been living on the island for the past 10 months, and was employed at Rawlins Plantation, was found dead, with stab wounds to his torso, in a rural field on the western end of St. Kitts yesterday.

Detective Inspector Charles Smithen, from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), said, “A major investigation has been launched into the circumstances of the man's death and how the man came to sustain his injuries. Police are seeking two persons of interest in connection with the incident.”

The St. Kitts Nevis Observer said that this is the second murder recorded in six days and the Federation’s 34th murder this year. The previous deadly incident took place on Christmas Eve in Nevis, and the 17-year-old victim was also stabbed to death.
