Bridgetown.
Minister of Industry, Small Business and Rural Development Denis Kellman, has described reported moves by some members of the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) to remove Prime Minister Freundel Stuart from office as political suicide.
"I have no intentions of committing political suicide",says Kellman.
Last week 11 members of DLP parliamentarians dsipatched a letter to Stuart requesting a meeting to discuss the country's and the party's future leadership.
Kellman, the most experience DLP parliamentarian denied any advance knowledge of the letter but said he would be willing to sit down with the Prime Minister and other members of the party to discuss the controversy should Stuart convene such a meeting.
"I have always said that I do not support personalities, I support party and philosophy. I see nothing wrong at the present moment with the Prime Minister. I have no intentions of committing political suicide said Kellman.
"I am not party to the letter, I have not seen it and they [ authors and signatories] would better to such a letter to me", he added.
