One hundred and twenty one nurses will be appointed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) early next month. Minister of Health Donville Inniss made the announcement at the renaming ceremony for the Eunice Gibson Polyclinic, formerly the Warrens Polyclinic
"I am reliably advise that the QEH is about to appoint as early as next month, 121 nurses to its staff, I wish to apologize for the delay but I have tasked the QEH Board to ensure that all nurses are appointed by the first quarter of the year", Inniss said.
According to Inniss, the renaming ceremony was part of the Government commitment to recognize nurses for their outstanding work in Barbados.
Eunice Gibson was the founder of the then Barbados Registered Nurses Association, now the Barbados Nurses Association.
