NYGM brings cheers to orphanages on social outreach

 

Georgetown : The New York Guyana Medical & Social Outreach (NYGM) today completed a one week programme reaching out to the under privileged who are housed at orphanages and drop in centers across the country.

The visiting group of seven comprised of Dr. Tara Singh, Dr. Vyaas Persaud, Holly Persaud, Dr. Acklema Mohammad, Shana Persaud, Sarah Persaud and Divya Persaud and supported by Mrs. Jean Ramdeo of Georgetown.

The group said beside providing medical services, they were happy to listen to various social problems and offered advice and comfort which brought smiles to many young people.

Gifts were distributed with the compliments of Giftland Office Max and the homes and orphanages visited were from Georgetown, East Coast Demerara, Mahaica, Berbice, Soesdyke Linden Highway and West Bank Demerara.

This initiative was sanctioned by the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security and according to NYGM this will be an annual event during the summer.

The charitable group leaves for New York tomorrow morning.
