A FORMER top crime fighter has been gunned down in what appears to be a hit. Police investigators are stilled trying to determine the exact motive behind the murder of retired Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of crime, Cecil Carrington. He was shot twice at Carries on the Bay- a guest house he owned in Manzanilla. Emergency Health Service technicians found his body at the front desk around 12.30 a.m. shortly after nearby residents had reported hearing gunshots.
Carrington was found on the ground with two gunshot wounds on his body. Investigators say a black S.U.V was seen driving away from the hotel immediately after the shots were heard.
They have ruled out robbery because nothing was stolen.
