Linden Soesdyke Highway – The police conducted a drug eradication operation at Yarrowkabra Backdam, Soesdyke/Linden Highway where seven fields, of about 6 acres in size, with approximately 6,500 marijuana plants between two feet and seven feet in height were found along with a nursery containing 3,500 seedlings and seven camps. In addition 50kgs. of dried cannabis and 3kgs. seeds were found.During the operation an improvised shotgun with one live 12 gauge cartridge was found on a trail leading to the farm. It was set as a “gun trap”. The plants and camps were destroyed. No arrest was made.
