Foreign Minister calls on international partners to honour trade pledges

Bridgetown Barbados: Barbados Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Maxine McClean made a plea to the international community to honour its commitment to provide more support Barbados and other developing countries to pursue their trade agenda.

Senator McClean made the plea at a three day forum on Aid for Trade for the Caribbean at the Accra Hotel in Barbados.

The forum is being held under the auspices of the World Trade Organization, the Inter American Development Bank and the Caricom Secretariat.

The Aid for trade concept was established to assist developing countries prepares for international trade and provides a cushion for the impact of trade liberalization, poverty alleviation and prepares the business sector for international competition.
