Sophia, Georgetown – The People's National Congress/Reform (PNC/R) today says the ruling People's Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) has a sinister plan to remain in office beyond the constitutional deadline. The main opposistion blamed President Jagdeo that he had made several efforts to stay in office after his two terms. The party claims that one option the President may have sought is to delay the 2011 election if there is a national emergency. In this context the PNC says Guyanese must analyse recent developments, including the trump up treason charges against three Guyanese, the appointment of the chairman of the Guyana Election Commission as chairman of the new Guyana Livestock Development Authority, the recent explosions at the stabroek market square and dismantling of stalls.
The PNC says they are keeping a close eye on this administration leading up to the 2011 general election
