Christmas is just a few weeks away, but Guyana’s carnival Mashramani which is celebrated on February 23rd every year, plans are already in the streamline.
Costume designers last night displayed their creation at the Umana Yana which were colourful and made with various materials.
Culture Minister Dr. Frank Anthony congratulated the designers on their initiative and to be part of Mash 2011, as they were impressive.
Mashramani 2011 will be held under the theme,’ Showcasing our culture; sustaining our pride’.
The winning theme was submitted by Den Amstel, West Coast Demerara resident, Marcia Washington, who received a cash reward of $50,000 for her effort.
