Stabroek market vendors undecisive on next move, as orders to vacate key areas continue.

Georgetown- In the wake of a deadly explosion at Guyana’s busiest and biggest market in the city, and the massive shake up of operations there by the authorities to clear a vast area of illegal structures and activities, vendors continue to suffer the worst. As they become displaced with each passing day, many are now contemplating their next move. They complain of being pushed around by the police who remain very vigilant in the market square. Some were provided temporary locations just behind the market, while others are still trying to settle for business. One vendor lamented that the police while they have a right to secure the area, cannot deprive the vendors of a daily bread.
