East Coast Demerara– A local Imam in a named East Coast village was caught red handed with his hand around the waist of a 14 year old girl during masjid lessons. According to concerned parents in the village, there have been numerous complaints about the particular masjid leader. Reports are that three parents visited the masjid unexpected one day while the Imam was conducting quranic lessons, and caught him red-handed. The three women were shocked but opted to keep what they saw, a secret since the exposure would be very embarrasing to the community. Reports are that the same 14 year old has been a victim to the Imam in the past , when asked whether she made any reports to her parents, one masjid member said that she is scared and was threatened by the Imam.
