Wherever the World’s millions
I have been persuaded to contend that IF GOOD CHRISTIANS DO NOT BELIEVE IN AND ACCEPT THAT THE MIRACLES OF A VIRGIN BIRTH AND A RESURRECTION, AFTER A SAVAGE CRUCIFIXION ON A CROSS IN GOLGOTHA, DID TAKE PLACE, THEN THEY HAVE NO BASIS FOR THEIR FAITH.
Put another way, genuine practicing Christians have no choice but to believe that their Christ (GOD THE SON) rose from the dead. Whilst there are categories of Christians who do not believe in the TRIUMVIRATE of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. But all Christians accept the raising up from Death, because that’s the HOPE, the basis of Christianity.
For this Easter 2012, I reproduce a few thoughts TO PROVOKE YOUR OWN REFLECTIONS, relevant to one of mankind’s major religions.

“On every occasion I enquired of good Christian folk – both preachers and laity – the reasons for the manifestation of such widespread evil in this world – crime, child abuse and murder, disease, brutal natural disasters, traffic accidents, corruption, discrimination – I am told that it is the devil’s doing. That mankind brings about all the bad, their own demise, when they reject God’s Way and follow the evil of Satan which results in everything bad.
Yes, the point is always made that God, while He punishes wrongdoing, is compassionate and forgiving. Sin results from man’s own consistent rejection of His Ways. The consequential results are crime (man succumbs to or accepts the Devil’s Rack of values and willingly breaks his society’s rules), disease (except you were born with health defects); man’s own recklessness and indifference to cleanliness, good-living and correctional therapies, cause sickness, and cause disease to multiply and spread; hate (definitely a man-made misbehavior) and yes, even certain natural Disasters ( global warming is a result of man’s careless emissions; levees break when man builds them wrong, or at the wrong place, flood, are contributed to by man’s indifference to proper drainage and irrigation, fires, and hurricanes result in death because man’s precautions were poor.)
The point is, I am told, that everything bad, evil, criminal, and anti-social is as a result of mankind’s embrace of the Devil’s influence – not the work of an almighty but loving God! Of course, people are punished by fate-(God)-in various unwelcome ways, to point them to the error of their wrongdoings
The point is also made that the new Christian groups seem to want to supplant the earlier Church – the Anglicans, Catholics, Presbyterians, Moravians, Lutherans etc, etc. who, apparently did poorly in teaching earlier Guyanese to accept God’s way, I am of the view however, that our older generations lived cleaner, better, more orderly and compassionate lives. Was not sin and its consequences much less!?
Another minor but significant point has to do with the evangelising and conversion nature of some Western religions. They are told to win souls from anywhere, from any other religion. Some Hindus are upset that Christianity, for example, aggressively seeks to convert born Hindus. The result: thousands of the descendants of Hindus and Muslims in Guyana are now Christians – some high up in the New Churches.
But again, I ask, to what end? Satan, to, me, is winning the war for man’s soul”.
