The man spearheading the current protest actions in Linden, Regional Chairman, Sharma Solomon earlier met again, with President Donald Ramotar at Office of the President.
The “long” closed door meeting did make progress, as President Ramotar, has agreed to suspend the July 1, tariff increase for Linden.
Sharma, prior to his meeting with the President and his delegation seconded representatives from both A Partnership for National Unity and the Alliance for Change inviting representatives.
Attorney-at-Law Nigel Hughes represented the AFC, while APNU’s Dr Rupert Roopnarine represented the partnership.
The meetings will continue tomorrow at Office of the President.
The increase in electricity tariff had triggered the current protest actions in Linden but since the shooting to death of three of the demonstrators, the list of demands had broadened.
