Georgetown: Police this morning will close the case against 42 year old Parmanand Seepersuad after he died yesterday at the Georgetown Hospital from ingestion of poison. Police guarded the man who attempted suicide with the intention of charging him for first degree murder. Seepersaud mercilessly hacked his reputed wife 26 year old Gaitree Narine to death Saturday last. It is believed that the attacks happened following a heated argument about the woman's lover. The death of the Timehri couple who were popular in the community sent shock waves among residents and neighbors. Seepersaud left behind 7 children who are now in the care of close relatives. Statistics have shown the during the last decade the incidents of domestic violence that have ended tragically with the lost of lives have increased significantly. Most times the woman bares the blunt of the fatal attacks. On an annual basis six to seven deaths occur in domestic violence.
