Bridgetown.
It will be long time before the islands of theCaribbean have a true open skies policy.
This is the view of chief executive officer of Redjet Robert Burns, he noted that Redjet's permission to ply certain routes in the region was a small but major step in the development of regional aviation.
Burns reiterated Redjet's goal " that through CARICOM, a true open skies agreement will exist on a multilateral basis and not just on a bilateral basis" .
The low cost airline commenced operations from Barbados to Guyana on May 10 and is already recording a 70 percent growth in the market for those three months says Burns.
He added that seven days after launching the Trinidad fares some flights from the twin island Republic had been sold out.
