Opposition appears confused on Amaila Falls project-Cabinet secretary

Georgetown : Cabinet Secretary Dr. Roger Luncheon has accused the Parliamentary Opposition of sending mixed signal with regards to support for the Amalia Falls Hydro-power Project (AFHP), that continue to create doubt and appreciation of their role and support of the major transformative project

Addressing his weekly post-Cabinet press briefing, Dr. Luncheon pointed out that whilst the Leader of the Opposition and other senior members have publicly proclaimed their support for the project and its implementation, that Guyanese through the media have been “regaled with negativism and insinuation by other members of the Opposition” that would seem to cast doubt about the protestations made by their leaders about their commitment to the project.

Recently Government took senior representatives of the A Partnership for ational Unity (APNU) and the Alliance for Change (AFC) on a tour of the access road to the project in Region Eight, following which the Opposition members expressed publicly that they have a greater understanding of the challenges facing the project.

The multi-million dollar transformative AFHP project, upon completion should provide stable, reliable, and affordable green energy for all Guyanese.
