Over 1200 applications for re-migrant housing scheme- Minister Ali

Georgetown : Housing Minister Irfaan Ali has disclosed that the re-migrant housing scheme is 45 percent completed with over 1200 applications to date.

Applications received were from Guyanese residing in the United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom, Netherlands, the Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados and Antigua.
Ministry of Housing has begun working on a plot of land at Providence on the East Bank of Demerara for the re-migrants’ scheme which will consist of various sizes of lots ranging from 6000 to 8000 square feet.
This programme will bring great macro-economic opportunities for Guyana as the Ministry is working aggressively to have at least 500 lots completed by March of this year.
