Berbice : An overseas-based Guyanese couple were robbed by five men, three of whom were armed with firearms and the others with cutlasses around 2:30 am today at No. 56 Village, Corentyne.
Andy Ramjit, 28 years, and Rovina Ramjit, 23 years, were with relatives having a party when the armed men entered and held them up. Krishnadat Pydanna, 47 years of Lesbeholden South, Black Bush Polder, resisted the men and was shot to his left shoulder.
The perpetrators then took away a quantity of jewellery from Andy and Rovina Ramjit and escaped. They were assaulted by the men during the robbery.
Krishnadat Pydanna has been admitted a patient at the New Amsterdam Hospital while Andy and Rovina Ramjit were treated and sent away.
