PAHO/WHO donates road safety signs to schools

Georgetown: Schools across the country will benefit from road safety signs. The Pan American Health Organisation/World Health Organisation (PAHO/WHO) donated 100 Stop Signs to the Guyana National Road Safety Council (GNRSC) for distribution to schools across Guyana. The stop sign paddles will be used by students during road safety training exercise.

Ramona Doorgen, coordinator of the Guyana National Road Safety Council (NRSC) urged all citizens to be a part of promoting awareness towards the reduction of accidents in the country. She pointed out that the Road Safety Associations are visiting schools to engage students in practical road safety exercises

.Adrianus Vlugman, Senior Advisor of PAHO/WHO in his remarks said that PAHO/WHO will continue to work with the GNRSC.

Executive members of the council expressed appreciation to the PAHO/WHO representatives for supporting them with the paddles for the benefit of Guyana’s students.
