The Ministry of Education has lodged 22 cases in the Magistrates Courts against parents for not sending their children to school regularly.
Several parents are expected to appear in the District E Magistrate's Court today and the District A Magistrate's Court next month charged under Section 61 of the Education Act, under the section entitled Failing to Attend School.
Under the Act a parent found guilty of not regularly sending a child to school can be be fined $50.
